Five Ways to Live and Lead Consciously: The Andreia® Method
What does it mean to Live Consciously?
Self-awareness. True conscious living means becoming fully aware of your thoughts, choices, and actions. Yet, research shows that more than 40% of what we say and do happens on autopilot—without conscious awareness. This doesn’t even include the body’s incredible nervous system, which operates automatically to keep you breathing and functioning.
But what about your mind?
Living consciously is more than just physical awareness—it’s about recognizing and understanding the patterns of your thoughts, the reasons behind your behaviors, and making choices that align with your values. It’s about becoming aware of the mental “machinery” that drives you so you can take control of it—steering yourself toward the outcomes you truly desire and not being pulled in another direction – counter intention.
This is the foundation of Leading Consciously, which lies at the heart of The Andreia Method.
Here are five key practices to help you start Living Consciously and Leading Consciously today:
1. Change Your Filters, Change Your Reality
What you call “reality” is shaped by the mental filters you use to interpret the world. When those filters are clouded by past experiences, assumptions, and limiting beliefs, they distort your perspective. The good news? You can change them.
Take a closer look at the filters through which you see life. Are they clear and empowering? Or are they clogged with outdated fears and negativity? If they no longer serve you, it’s time to shift your perspective—and transform your reality.
2. Master Your Internal Dialogue
The way you talk to yourself shapes how you engage with others. This inner voice—known as endophasia—is part of being human. But is your internal dialogue supportive, encouraging, and constructive? Or is it critical, judgmental, and limiting?
Here’s the key: You are not your thoughts. You have a voice in your head, but you are separate from it. Start observing your internal dialogue and redirect it toward self-compassion and clarity.
3. Recognize That Your Upsets Come From The Past
When we experience emotional pain, everything about that moment—sights, sounds, smells—gets imprinted in our minds. These imprints can unconsciously trigger reactions, causing us to relive past experiences even when they’re not happening now.
Next time you feel triggered, ask yourself:
• What does this remind me of?
• Am I reacting to the present—or replaying a past wound?
Awareness is the first step to breaking these cycles and reclaiming your power in the moment.
4. Question Your Fears
There’s a big difference between fear and danger.
• Danger is real. It’s a genuine threat to your safety.
• Fear is a perception. It’s often based on what might happen rather than what is happening.
When fear arises, pause and ask:
👉 Is this real, or is it just a projection of what could happen?
Most fears are False Evidence Appearing Real (F.E.A.R.)—don’t let them control you.
5. Stay Present – Right Here, Right Now
Humans have a unique ability to dwell in the past and anticipate the future—all while missing the only moment that truly exists: the present.
Regret won’t change the past. Worry won’t control the future. Your power lies in what you choose now.
Ground yourself in the present moment by:
• Noticing how your body feels
• Observing your breath
• Becoming aware of your surroundings
• Focusing on what is happening right now
This is where clarity, action, and transformation begin.
