If you are like most people, you probably haven’t heard the word Abracadabra since you were a kid, or if you’re a child of the ’80s, since The Steve Miller Band released the song with that title in 1982. If we look at the origin of the word we find abracadabra literally means “I will create it, as per command” or more colloquially “What you command, I will create”. From Hebrew, the word “avra” is the future first-person tense of “bore”, or to create, and therefore “I will create”. The word “kadavra” is composed of the prefix “ka” or “as per”, and the word “davra” which is “command”. Words are powerful and used properly they have the power to create something amazing. Misused they have to power to disrupt and destroy. Becoming consciously aware of how you use words can radically alter how you see yourself and how others see you.
Results have a formula
Anything that exists in the world first began as a thought. The next piece is the words you use around it (Abracadabra), and none of it happens without action. The formula looks like this:
Thoughts + words + Action = Results
Results are natural outcomes that show up when we follow that formula. You can either use that formula consciously, and my recommendation is that you do, or you can be used by it. Either way, the results are going to come as you are producing results all the time. If those results are not in line with your stated or desired outcomes, it might pay to take a look at the words you use and how you use them. The actions you take and the results you produce will be directly correlated to the words you speak.
Be they spoken inwardly or outwardly.
Your words are you wand
You create with your words. What words do you use to describe yourself and your circumstances? In short, how you use language matters a great deal. How do you describe yourself? I AM, the two most powerful words in the universe for whatever follows those words is how you show up for yourself. You will also use specific language to describe your life and act accordingly. For example, how apologetic is your language? Do opportunities pass you by? Could there be a causal link between the two? If you tune in to your language and the language of those around you what you will find it a ‘window into the world of the speaker’. From there, it’s not hard to work out where they or you are at. If we go back to the meaning of abracadabra, what are you commanding?
Abracadabra
So, you literally create your world with the words you speak. What are you creating? Is it what you want? Whether it is or isn’t, I’m willing to wager your words are a match for what shows up for you.
The words you speak become the house you live in.
Hafiz
Your words create your reality. Since they are YOUR words, they are YOUR creation. That’s a confronting statement as it puts the power directly back into your hands, and the only question then is whether or not you choose to use that power. Now, if you are like most people you might want to push back on that statement, consider this; your actions arise from the way you communicate with yourself. The very words you use dictate how you feel. How you feel shapes the actions you are willing to take. Those actions create results. If you don’t like those results, change your language!
Shift your being
Let’s begin with the results part of the equation and work backwards. The formula again is:
Thoughts + words + Action = Results
There is a way of being linked to those results and that way of being are the DRIVER of your results. If you shift who you are being, then your results shift too. Then, it is merely a matter of aligning the way of being with desired results. Another way to look at it is to ask yourself a question. Who do I have to become to produce that result? There’ll be a way of being that will cause the result. It is being that gives rise to actions, and that way of being will cause the result. Shift who you are being and align your language to that and notice what happens.
You have heard that doing the same thing over and over again, expecting a different result is insanity. Well, doing something new is only possible from a shift in who you are being. Otherwise, it is more of the same. The source of it all is language. Of course, you’ll still need to take action.
Abracadabra. Use your words consciously and deliberately.
